Feasibility study of integral management of sewage sludge and biodegradable waste in the Gorenjska region.

The article discusses problems, concerned with sewage sludges and biodegradable wastes treatment in Gorenjska region (Slovenia), which is now very versatile and in most cases unsuitable. For this reason EU and RS strategies about biodegradable wastes treatment were analysed, as well as actual and anticipated legislation and established good operational practices (IPPC directive/BAT/BREF). Characteristics of sewage sludges sources and their annual quantities for Gorenjska region were investigated in order to provide data on WWTP sludges and separately collected biodegradable wastes.
