The article focuses on system level, design and layout approaches designed for integrated circuits ASIC used in automotive applications. The ASIC designer has to manage all aspects of the automotive dedicated ASIC design flow with respect to all required standards and regulations which regulate this area.

COBISS.SI-ID: 8234580A method for driving a solenoid device using PWM-coil-current is proposed in patent. The method tracks the position of the solenoid’s armature by sampling voltage drops along the channel of coil driving transistors in real time. Pulse width modulation enables current supply adjustment. Error detection is included to detect possible misbehavior. The content is connected to research project in the part of output power stage and its current measurement.
