The use of frequence response method to determine modulus of elasticity of sawn wood

Non-destructive dynamic methods allow fast and reliable grading of structural timber. In this investigation the frequency response method was used. The correlation between dynamic elasticity modulus determined by dynamic response method (transversal damped vibration of simply supported boards) and static modulus of elasticity, based on classic four-point bending test was examined. The correlation between the results obtained with used methods is strong. The frequnce response method is fast and reliable.
