Non-destructive characterisation of iron gall ink drawings : not such a galling problem

Historical samples of rag paper, which contains iron-gall ink was analysed with respect to pH and average molar mass of cellulose. A prediction model for pH (R2= 0,931) and average molar mass (R2= 0,946) vase developed. The study was done in cooperation with University College London, Centre for Sustainable Heritage.
