Non-destructive characterisation of iron gall ink drawings : not such a galling problem

Drawings from the British museum were studies using NIR spectroscopy. Based on the average uncertainty of the estimated remaining useful life, a klasification was proposed, which may contribute to preservation of drawings in museums, libraries and archives. The study was done in cooperation with University College London, Centre for Sustainable Heritage.
