On the basis of the new systematic compilation of a database of all extant music sources for Slovenian keyboard music of the 19th century the author proposes her systemisation of the local Waltz repertoire. Pointed out are different aspects among which also the function and use of such pieces especially in amateur private music making. In this broadest sense the majority of these pieces actually functioned as training pieces for keyboard playing. The author also analyses selected pieces and develops a fresh view on the past theoretical discussions of this repertoire.
