War - Cause and Impulse of Migrations: the Case of World War I and the Slovene Territory

The article deals with the special issue regarding war and had an important impact, as well as direct war operations, on the demographic evolution of the population. World war 1914 – 1918 caused huge migration flows of the military and civilian population. The article deals with the migrations from the Slovene territories; it compares them with the European migration context. It focuses on the means and ways of the migration flows, in socialization of the refugees and their re-socialization at the returning to their homes.

Ivan Hribar during World War I

The article focuses on the activity and destiny of Ivan Hribar, a Slovene politician, the ey major of Ljubljana and an important representative of the neoslavic movement in Austro-Hungary, during World War I. The articles pays special attention on the political and military conditions in the Slovenen lands, as they presented the so called direct war territory with a sharp military- police regime.
