High-resolution melting curve analysis for high-throughput genotyping of NOD2/CARD15 mutations and distribution of these mutations in Slovenian inflammatory bowel diseases patients

We have developed high-resolution melting curve (HRM) analysis assays for high-throughput, accurate and cost effective genotyping of mutations in NOD2/CARD15, the most important gene associated with Inflammatory bowel disease. Using combination of the two genotype calling algorithms, »Tm calling« in »gene scanning«, we have genotyped 640 IBD patients and found 98% concordance with genotypes determined with the reference RFLP method.
