Third generation data mining: Towards service-oriented knowledge discovery

We have organized a successful workshop SoKD 2009 in the framework of European conference on machine learning and data mining ECML-PKDD 2009, which was also organized by us at Bled in September 2009. The service-oriented workshop was attended by 40 participants and resulted in the proceedings with 10 reviewed papers. Towards a service-oriented knowledge discovery platform

We have developed a service oriented platform, Orange4WS, for workflow construction from data mining and knowledge discovery algorithms. Orange4WS is an open source software which we have applied to bioinformatics domains for data and text analysis and knowledge discovery.
