Presence service provides users with information on others users’ availability, willingness to communicate and preferred means of communication, which can serve as an input for innovative applications. Presence system architecture and standards are given. Architecture that combines presence information from various sources and provides it to consumers in an aggregated form is proposed, together with its usefulness that provide employees with information about coworkers’ locations and communication capabilities and allows to instantly start the communication.

The basis of any modern defence system represents secure, robust and efficient communications systems, designed for military purposes in order to suite a broad range of arbitrary and combat missions. The systems are designed as a uniform communications platform, enabling the exchange of any type of services and applications within battlefield combat units as well as in communication with remote command post.
