MoS[sub]2 hybrid nanostructures.

In the invited talk we reported inorganic nanopods called »mama«-tubes and other derived morphologies, like nanotubes with split walls, MoS2 nanobuds or completely released MoS2 fullerene-like particles were shown. We presented the ultra-high vacuum AFM friction measurements made on a single mama-tube and on a single MoS2 nanosphere. Tribology data were compared with observations made on MoS2 empty nanotubes and on MoS2 layered-crystals using the same testing procedure.

The Stribeck curve and lubrication design for non-fully wetted surfaces

We developed generally applicable procedures for the estimation of slip of the lubricant on non-fully wetted surfaces. Such procedures have not yet been presented in the literature. With the use of experimental data, the method provides the rate of slip between the liquid (lubricant) and the surface for macroscopic engineering contacts.
