A new front-end electronics system has been developed for the electron arm tracking detectors in the Kaos spectrometer at the Mainz microtron MAMI. The system operates with large number of channels (scintillating fibres detector) and high rates.

In digital nuclear calorimetry, the effect on measured pulse amplitudes by piling up of pulses can be compensated based on the pulses’ respective timestamps. We propose here a compensation method, suitable for real-time as well as off-line implementation.
