PELIKAN, Egon: Conceptual crossroads of the leading slovenian catholic intellectuals and their "final" historical outline.

In this paper, Dr. Pelikan deals with the attitude of some of the key ideological leaders of Slovenian political camps towards major ideological issues. He points out the generally very ambivalent attitude of the leading Slovenian Catholic intellectuals towards Marxism, the national question, etc. He presents some of the most blatant examples and tries to explain the reasons for the distortion of history on the cases of some of the leading ideologists of the Slovenian political Catholicism and their relationship to some for the key issues.

KALC, Aleksej. Trieste during the Illyrian Provinces: some demographic aspects.

The paper addressed the question of the demographic development of Trieste in the period of the Illyrian Provinces, when the long term rise of Trieste population, which was boosted by massive immigration, was momentarily interrupted because of the naval blockage in the Adriatic sea. Particular emphasis was placed on methodological approaches and interpretative problems, which must be coped with because of a lack of suitable statistics and other historical sources.
