Janez Juhant & Bojan Žalec (eds.), Art of Life: Origins, Foundations and Perspectives

The members of programs group with foreign authors (among them U. Beck) approach the questions of art of life from the point of view of cognitive science, psychology, education, sociology, science of law, science of religion, anthropology, philosophy and theology. The essays scientifically confirm the necessity of cooperation, communication, dialogue and solidarity (in all areas) in order to achieve life of quality. The suggestions and models for their cultivation are presented.

Juhant in Žalec (eds.). On the way to dialogical humanity: obstacles for human communication (original in Slovene)

The members of research group consider the obstacles on the way to the dialogue in general (Juhant, Žalec, Erzar, Jamnik), the obstacles and ways to dialogue between scientific disciplines, in science and in the different worldviews (Klun, Strehovec, Petkovšek), obstacles of dialogue legal and religious sciences (Slatinek, Ocvirk, Osredkar) and the way to dialogue in education and family (Gerjolj, Prijatelj, Pevec -Rozman) The dialogue is necessary so the obstacles of it should be removed.

KLUN, Branko. Critique of Metaphysics and Biblical Heritage

The book deals with the critique of metaphysics in contemporary philosophy (Dilthey, Heidegger, Vattimo, Levinas) and shows how this critique is inspired by biblical tradition. There is a fundamental tension and dialogue between Greek metaphysics with its emphasis of timeless logos on one side, and the biblical tradition, characterized by history and difference, on the other side.

The work is dealing with implications and clashes of ideas (cultural war) in Slovene society of 20th century and with consequences, which were legalized among the Slovene nation . It questioning, whether on these sediments of national inheritance could be build the ways of dialogue and reconciliation.

The book presents the survey of the philosophical understanding of man, his nature and his moral capabilities. The constant perspective throughout all the book is determined by the personalist position of the author against nihilism and instrumentalism. He engages for a dialogical an moral acceptable society.
