Several comments to the interpretations of Slovenian language in the Muscovite Russia and the territory of Slovenia in the 16th century

The study is a synthesis of the author's reflections on the comparative researches on the Slovenian and Russian space in the 16th century. Differences between the Orthodox and Catholic/Protestant understandings of the world were great, but the new concepts, related to the spirit of the Renaissance, found their way into the literary practice of both cultural-civilising practices.

Fin de siecle in Slovenian fashion

The lecture at an international conference addressed the art at the end of the century in music and literature; as such it concludes a number of the authors analyses of the epoch. The high cultural level of the so-called province in the Habsburg monarchy was a special facet of emancipation in Central Europe; competition between individual nations before the First World War gave rise to the general level of civilisation.

Igor Grdina, lectures at the Nova Gorica University: subjects – 1. Cultural History of Slovenian space, 2. Culture of Feudal society, 3. Europe at the Time of Revolutions.

These are 3 of the core subjects in the study of Cultural History at the University of Nova Gorica. The first focuses on the questions of ethno-genesis, life in pre-modern era and modernisation processes; the second gives an overview of the history of Europe in the Middle Ages, 16th and 17th centuries; the third gives a comparative perspective on the French (1789-1815), Russian (1905, 1917-1921) and German (1918-1919) revolutions.

Sane Granda, lectures at the University of Nova Gorica: subjects 1. Legal History and 2. Agrarian History.

These are two core subjects in the study of Cultural History at the University of Nova Gorica. The first concentrates on the legal systems that Slovenians encountered from the beginnings till today; the second highlights the paradigms of the agrarian history and shows constants and ruptures in the agrarian economy.

Classes for the subject Europe at the Time of Revolutions are intended for the students at the University of Nova Gorica to get acquainted with research methodology of Social History and with methods and techniques of conducting interview. Classes likewise give introduction to the methodology of Oral History.
