Ipavec's Serenada is one of the most characteristic and important compositions in the history of the Slovenian music, yet so far it has not been available in a reliable edition. The present scholarly edition is a result of a longer research; it is based on all the available extant sources and presents the score in the most authentic version.

The book outlines the first period in the history of the society and represents thus the first step towards a complex scholarly account of its entire history.
