The paper presents the idea of teachers as researchers of their own teaching practice. Since the main research problem of the project was interdisciplinary connections, the teachers involved in the project were asked to develop a teaching method based on joining different school subjects. The aim of developing such a method was to deepen the pupils´ mathematical knowledge and improve their skills of using and applying mathematics.

The principle of »multiliteracy« is used as the leading principle in the article, i.e. the interweaving of literacies of different subject areas, combined into the overall ability of reading and writing in order to enable quality living and acting in the contemporary society. The article deals with the subject areas of reading, mathematical, natural science, environmental, aesthetic and digital (CKT) literacy.

I wanted to establish new contacts and cooperation on field of following professional development of students – future teachers. It is one of the leading journals in the field of education in Slovenia, which has also gained international reputation lately. This fact has also been confirmed by the inclusion of the respective jounal into many important inetrnational databases, among others it was also indexed in Social Sciences Citation Index, Social Scisearch, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition (Thomson Reuters services) last year.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1142020In the international monograph Research of Educational Practice, published by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana there are 11 articles containing findings of various research in the field of education. Their authors come from the Czech Republic, Spain, Serbia, Ukraine and Poland. The predominant idea of all the contributions is the necessity to constantly evaluate the teaching practice and to present the practitioners with the evaluation results. At the same time they should be trained to perform self-evaluation and action research.
