TOMŠIČ, Matevž. Cultural patterns and competence in Slovenian public administration.

Cultural profile of Slovenian public administration and the mode of its transformation is the issue. The main aim is to analyse prevailing cultural patterns and situation regarding competences and efficiency of this segment in government as well as its ‘europeisation’, i.e. transmitting knowledge, skills, norms and values from the Western European environment into Slovenian context during the process of the country’s accession to the EU. Author claims there are evident deficiencies that have to be redressed in order to achieve higher level of performance in its conduct.
