Workshop IRSA: Socio-cultural aspects of knowledge transfer. Bled, 3-5 december, 2009.

Main purpose of scientific meeting of the program group was to reach an agreement regarding common applications for EU projects and discuss options relating to publication of international edited volume. In the days of the conference we managed to identify potential calls for proposals and selected possible topics/contributors for the edited volume.

Dioscuri project: Eastern enlargement – Western enlargement: cultural encounters in the European economy and society after the accession: (data base).

In the frame of the Dioscuri project we studied areas of economic culture, organisational climate and transfer of knowledge and competences in Slovenia. A wast data base on grounds of qualitative methods is now available in the Social science data archive.

The importance of social capital in informatic society: doctoral thesis.

Main purpose of the dissertation is placement or reinterpretation of social capital in the context of informational society. Key concepts were reflected on: informational society, virtual community and social capital. These three concepts are recently very popular in scientific sociological discussions as well as on the level of popular discourse in mass media. Herein lies the cause for trouble we confronted in the process of their reinterpretation and definition.
