Injuries of children in physical activity in kindergarten

The results showed that 60% of children in kindergarten only 1 times per week of organized physical activity, more than half of the casino, even a quarter of the hall. In the last year, damaging more than a quarter of children in nursery school, significantly more boys than girls.

The highest differences between the two generations in seven years period have been established in two physical characteristics – body weight and upper-arm skin fold. Motor abilities show differences in different directions. The most positive changes are observable in muscular endurance of the torso and most negative in endurance of shoulder girdle and arms and general endurance.

In the year 2009 Gregor Starc has worked as the coordinator of data analysis for Sport-educational chart, one of the largest system for the monitoring of physical and motor development of children and youth in the world. Through this system in 2009 we gathered and analysed the measurements for more than 200.000 children in from all Slovenia.
