P5-0018 — Annual report 2009
1.
Development of a decision-support information system for purchasing logistics

A web-based decision-support information system was developed to support purchasing logistics with a goal of optimizing inventory control and reducing costs. A user interface was implemented on an Apache web server with web programming languages PHP and Java Script. The system is supported by MS SQL Server 2008 database. An inventory control computational core was implemented with the C# programming language and is based on the simulation model and inventory control algorithms.

2.
Exploitation of e-technologies for cross-border e-regions development

It is assumed that e-region development is important for the provision of competitive advantages in cross-border e-region connectivity. It is assumed that national borders have a major impact on cross-border transactions executions. E-collaboration of companies, government organizations and universities and other research institutions in the accelerated creation, development and implementation of solutions and services based on ICT in a country, or in a region of the countries, can be considered a large, broadly understood living laboratory.

F.04 Increase of the technological level

3.
Optimization of business processes in the field of health care administration in University Clinical Centre, with an assessment of potential benefits

In the case of internal clinics (Rheumatology, Hypertension and Centre for War Veterans), a detailed analysis of processes was carried out with simulation models. The results of the analysis enabled determination of an appropriate set of key parameters' values, which can provide more effective implementation of administrative processes.

Proceedings of the 12th international Information Society – IS 2009 multiconference

The information society is changing the world, as well as Slovene society. The aim of IS 2010 is not to provide the final answers to the problems of the information society, but to open interdisciplinary debate and to explore different research directions. The multiconference will serve as a forum for the global and national community to explore current and future research trends, business opportunities and governmental policies – both European and American. The main objective is the exchange of ideas and the development of visions for the future of the information society.
