Annual Meeting of Slovene Oenologists 2010, Ljubljana, Hotel Mons, 17th November 2010

Annually we organize well visited (approx 150 participants in 2010) scientific-technological symposium in viticulture and oenology with international participations. The topics of the papers focus on actual problems in viticulture and oenology. Published papers are peer-reviewed.

Development of new wine press at Škrlj d.o.o. comany; PATENT REGISTRATION P201100097

In cooperation with Škrlj d.o.o., company for winery equipment we develop a new generation of grape presses for oxygen free grape pressing. A company will get better competitivenss on worldwide market, however, winemakers will benefit a lower cost and better wine quality when using this equipment. Mean research outcome is patent registration that we submitted in March 2011 at Slovenian Agency for Intelectual Property. The patent named 'Procedure for addition of enology reagents on the grapes during grape pressing' will be registred in Slovenia and EU.

Sprayer for target application of plant protection product on permanent plantations: SI 22903 (A), 2010-05-31- PATENT.

The new type of sprayer for the application of plant protection products in orchards and wineyards were developed. The aim of the invention is the quantity adapted application of plant protection products depending on size of the plant crown (fruit tree or vine).

EUFRIN meeting of working group for fruit thinning, Lleida, Spain 11.-13. March 2010.

The annual meeting of European working group for fruit thinning was organized in Spain under umbrella of EUFRIN (European Fruit Research Institutes). 18 active participants from near all EU countries were presented trials by 20 min. speech.

The influence of different agricultural areas on the level of pesticide residues in the pollen and its influence on development of Carniolan honeybee

Presence of chemicals in pollen samples and development of 90 honeybee colonies which were situated on 30 locations. In year 2009 residues’ were found in pollen samples from 11 locations (37%) and in year 2010 in samples from 5 locations (17%). The highest number of residues was found in pollen from the intensive fruit farming locations and from the intensive viticulture areas.Residues that were found were mostly from fungicide group (69 %). Residues in the pollen did not influence the development of the honeybee colonies.
