Wood fuels, wood logs, wood chips: productions, quality standards and trade

We published a handbook about solid biofuels that contains practical information’s for all producers and users of wood biomass. It is the first handbook on solid biofuels published in last 20 years in Slovenia.

: First report of quarantine harmful organism in Slovenia: - Mycosphaerella dearnessii

First report on the fungus Mycosphaerella dearnessii on Pinus mugo and P. sylvestris in the park in Bled and Ljubljana. M. dearnessii is an EU quarantine disease. Measures of eradication were undertaken on both locations. Eradication of the quarantine fungus prevented further spread of the disease to the surroundings and Slovenia. Therefore, this is a contribution to forest protection and sustainable development.

Indicators of favourable conservation status of forest habitat types in Slovenia

On the basis of forest inventory data of the SFS and ICP Forests and analyses of current and potential threats we identified an acceptable state of forest habitats (after Habitat directive 1992, Natura 2000). However more efforts should be put on priority EU habitat types and minority habitats at the national level.
