Aromas in grape and wine

The aroma compounds are important in winemaking, as they contribute to aroma, taste, odour of the grape, most and wine. They are present as free volatiles and non-volatile glycosides. The main groups of aroma compounds are terpenes, alcohols, benzene derivates, C13 norisoprenoids and volatile phenols. The extraction methods and analytical techniques have made considerable progress in the last decades. The grape, must and wine samples were subjected to HS-SPME-GC-MS analysis. Quantification and identification of aroma compounds are dependent upon the equipment and the group of aroma compounds.

Pruning of fruit plants: growing of fruit plants in home garden and intensive orchards

Professional monography is intended for fruit growers-amateurs and professional fruit growers. The principles and rules of fruit pruning for various fruit plants are described in detail. In addition to fruit pruning, the basic characteristics of fruit planting and training systems are illustrated.

3.
Multipurpose manure spreading device

This multipurpose manure spreading device enables the spreading of organic manure both backwards and sideways. This is achieved by changing the positioning and direction of rotation of the rotors via an angle change assembly, which allows changes to the angle between the rotor carrier beam and the casing for crushing rollers. When they are in the position for spreading manure backwards, the rotors rotate in the opposite directions, while in the position for spreading manure sideways they rotate in the same direction. This enables optimum spreading of organic manure over a desired surface.

Workshop »Biological control 2010«

Presentations from the fields of predators, parasitoids, entomopathogenic nematodes and biological control agents against plant diseases were presented on the workshop »Biological control 2010«. Workshop with 35 participants, mainly agricultural counsellors, were organized with the aim of more intensive implementation of biological control in the systems of food production in Slovenia.

Textbook: Bioactive compounds in fruit plants

The textbook is prepared for the students of International Master of Fruit Science who have completed basic courses in chemistry, biochemistry, botany, plant physiology and have gained knowledge in fruit production technologies and functioning of fruit plants. The idea is to bring their knowledge together in elucidation of structures, functions and manipulation of plant bioactive compounds with agrotechniques. It is meant as an introduction to the plant secondary metabolites. At the end of the book references for further studding are listed.
