Three-dimensional ultrasound diagnostics of the tongue posture in children with unilateral posterior crossbite

Tongue posture importantly influeces development of teeth and jaws. The clinical assessment is unreliable because of the anatomical limitations. In the study we for the first time used a 3D ultrasonography to make referential 3D reconstructions of the tongue dorsum with known posture. Referential reconstructions were used for the objective assessment of the tongue posture in children with unilateral posterior crossbite and in children with no malocclusions in the period of deciduous and early mixed dentition. Significant differences in the tongue posture have been found.

The Slovenian Version of the Oral Health Impact Profile Questionnaire (OHIP-SVN): Translation and Psychometric Properties

A psychometric analysis of Slovenian translation of internationaly recognised Oral Health Impact Profile Questionnaire (OHIP-SVN) has been done. The questionary OHIP-SVN has proper psychometric properties: test-retest reliability, internal consistency and responsiveness.

Mechanical fatigue and hydrothermal stability of Y-TZP dental ceramics

We investigated the influence of surface treatment after cyclic mechanical fatigue in simulated and in vitro conditions on firmness and reliability of ageing in artificial saliva. Sandblasting of surface with A1303 particles significantly increases diametrically pliable firmness of Y-TZP ceramics after static and cyclic mechanical loading. The transformed monoclinic layer contributes to the increased pliable firmness of sandblasted Y-TZP ceramics also after ageing in artificial saliva. We established the max. survival decrease of patterns.
