1st Congress of Slovenian Association for Pain Theraphy and Symposium on Clinical Neurophysiology of Pain with 25th Dr. J. Faganel Memorial Lecture

Symposium offered an overview of clinical neurophysiological methods available for the functional evaluation of neural pathways involved in perception of pain. There were lectures and workshops. Introduced were the methods of the silent cutaneous period, withdrawal reflexes, laser evoked somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP), and contact heat SEP. The symposium was also an overview of the possibilities in Slovenia to advance clinical work and research in the area of neuropathic pain.

Phrenic nerve conduction studies

In diagnostic evaluation of patients with unexplained restrictive respiratory failure and in patients with suspected phrenic nerve lesions very useful method is also phrenic nerve conduction studies. Technique of phrenic nerve conduction studies, its reference ranges and indications are presented.
