System for temperature and temperature gradients measurements in small samples by NQR.

The described system enables contactless measurement of the temperature or its gradient in small compartments, obstructed by delicate obstacles. The measured place is disturbed only by a submillimeter quadrupole-active probe (minicrystal), fixed to the relevant spot.

Invited lecture: Thermal Memory Cell

We present a concept of a new kind of memory element, a thermal memory cell, where a byte of digital information can be stored into the storage medium by pure thermal manipulation on the international conference " Recent Advances in Broad-Band Solid-State NMR of Correlated Electronic Systems" as an invited lecture (Z. Jagličić). Our patent application in Germany the "Thermal Memory Cell" was extended into an Europen patent (German patent (file no. 102009000124.7-55), EU patent 09179123.6. Authors: J. Dolinšek, M. Inclusion of new graduate students in research work.

In 2010 two post graduate students were finished their study and obtained the degree. One post-doctoral student joined the group at IMFM in 2009. Three graduate doctoral level students were doing their PhD and research work in the group of Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School.

Leading of the Center of Magnetic measurements (CMag)

During last 8 years, since we purchased a new QD SQUID susceptometer and established CMag, experiments were conducted on the system for more than 80 % of all time (24h/day, 7 d/week). This results in more than 100 papers connected with research in CMag, several graduate works, four PhD studies (two finished, two running), a lot of new international collaborations. Since 2009 the new PPMS (Physical Property Measuring System) was install in the CMag laboratory.
