P2-0348 — Annual report 2009
1.
System for temperature and temperature gradients measurements in small samples by NQR

The described system enables contactless measurement of the temperature or its gradient in small compartments, obstructed by delicate obstacles. The measured place is disturbed only by a submillimeter quadrupole-active probe (minicrystal), fixed to the relevant spot.

2.
Inclusion of new graduate students in research work.

Two graduate students were started their PhD and research work in the group of Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School. One post-doctoral student joined the group at IMFM in 2009.

3.
Leading of the Center of Magnetic measurements (CMag)

During last 7 years, since we purchased a new QD SQUID susceptometer and established CMag, experiments were conducted on the system for more than 80 % of all time (24h/day, 7 d/week). This results in more than 70 papers connected with research in CMag, several graduate works, three PhD studies (one finished, two running), a lot of new international collaborations.

4.
Paper at the international scientific conference

Members of the program group have reported about our research work on 7 international scientific conferences (one of them was invited lecture)

5.
Tetrazole group as 14N NQR probe.

Comparative complete 14N NQR study has been done in 5-aminotetrazole, 5-aminotetrazole monohydrate and 1H-tetrazole (formerly published data). This can serve as a basis for further studies of more complex compounds including this groups
