Modeling of the main cutting force in high-pressure jet assisted turning process by genetic algorithm

Study was presented at the conference organized by Slovenian partner. Inconel 718 was machined with high-pressure jet assisted turning process and the main cutting force Fv was measured. Model for calculating the cutting force Fv depending on the process parameters was developed. Genetic algorithms were used to adapt constants figuring in this function so that modelled results were as much as possible closer to experimental values.

How to improve the positional accuracy of hsc machine tools

This paper presents general issues, methods and a practical example of the machine tool positional accuracy improvement in order to fulfil the increasing accuracy demand in modern machining technologies. The machine accuracy is mainly defined by the CNC driven axes positioning repeatability, which depends on the quality of the machine driving elements, measuring elements and the control-measure circuit. All accuracy measurements and their further analysis have been performed on a linear driven vertical machining centre Sodick MC430L using the laser interferometer Renishaw ML 10 Gold Standard.

Selection of cutting tools in relation to the machine tools and novelties in machining processes

Different materials and posibilities for production of taylor made cutting tools are offering the industry to choose the cutting tools, not just related to the workpiece material, but also dependent on the machining principles and machine tools. Shown were novel ideas from the field and future directions in industrial field.
