In November 2012, we successfully organized and carried out the 6th international scientific workshop and postgraduate course "Electroporation-based technologies and treatments". The lecturers were the most eminent and established international experts in electroporation: Eberhard Neumann, Justin Teissié, Lluis M. Mir, Veronique Préat, P. Thomas Vernier, Stefan Toepfl, Rafael V. Davalos and others. The audience comprised students from Slovenia and 12 other countries, as the course is a part of the credit system of the EU doctoral studies programmes.

Damijan Miklavčič held a lecture in the frame of the 4th technological evening of the Kranj Students Club, describing electrochemotherapy as an innovative and promising approach in cancer treatment. He also gave an interview for the club journal Zapik, elucidating this therapy as well as the broader aspects the role of electrical engineering in medicine.
