Reliability Analysis of Net Cross-section Resistance with Accidental Eccentricity of Holes

At small distances of holes to the edges of steel plates the net cross-section resistance may be strongly influenced by accidental eccentricity of holes that otherwise comply with execution tolerances. In the paper this influence was dealt with by using the reliability analysis and determination of the partial resistance factors. It was demonstrated that the partial factor 1,25 assures the required reliability up to edge distances that are not smaller than 1,2 times the hole diameter.

Development of the Leonardo da Vinci Accessible World for all Respecting Differences - AWARD project

The aim of the AWARD project is to raise the awareness of the need for accessible built environment for disabled persons. The material is electronic and can be presented in the traditional form, as a distance learning tool or as individual learning material. The preliminary testing of the material was performed at several schools in partner countries; in Slovenia the testing was done at the Departments of the Sanitary Engineering, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of the Health Studies, University of Ljubljana. The effect of constituent materials on the time development of the compressive strength of high-strength concrete

The effect of the constituent materials of different types of high strength concretes, and the other characteristics of concrete mix, on the development of compressive strength has been studied, with the emphasis on the early stages of maturing of such concretes. In the case of concretes containing cement with a high specific surface area and a predominant amount of alite, as well as in the case of concretes containing no silica fume or only a small amount of it, strength increased rapidly in the early stage of hardening, whereas later its rate of increase was practically insignificant.
