In 2013 we established a new laboratory for investigations of oxide materials by use of pulse laser deposition. At present 5 young PhD's are investigating oxide-based heterostructures. System for PLD is dedicated for the synthesis of nanosized thin layers which are grown layer by layer. The main parts of equipment are: high pressure RHEED diagnostics, UVV pumps, source of Oxygen plasma, source of magnontronic deposition, laser heating with pre-chamber which is conneted with glow-box.

COBISS.SI-ID: 26609703The dissertation deals with the synthesis and characterization of low dimensional nanostructures and their functionalization. By utilizing polyelectrolytes that served as nanoreactors for the in-situ synthesis of metallic nanoparticles on the surface of titanate nanobelts, Ines Bračko synthesized nanocomposites with controlled size and homogenous distribution of nanoparticles. Such nanocomposites with silver and copper nanoparticles exhibit enhanced photocatalytic activity in UV and visible region.
