Directed assembly of BaFe[sub](12)O[sub](19) particles and the formation of magnetically oriented films

In this contribution the mechanism of directed assembly of BaFe12O19 nanoparticles during the electrophoretic deposition was explained. The effec of particular processing steps in the final magentic orientation of the BaFe12O19 films was determined and evaluated.

Hexaferrite/polyester composite coatings for electromagnetic-wave absorbers

This contribution describes the newly developed technology of new composite materials for broad band electromagnetic-wave absorbers.

Controlled surface functionalization of silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles with terminal amino and carboxyl groups

Different biomedical applications of magnetic nanoparticles demand bonding of two biomolecules to the particle in controlled surface concentration. Bonding of two molecules can be controlled using controlled functionalization of the nanoparticle with two different functional groups. In this contribution, the method for the controlled, simultaneous functionalization of the nanoparticles with amino and carboxyl groups is presented.
