Suppression of tritium retention in remote areas of ITER by nonperturbative reactive gas injection

The paper was published in a prestigeous physical journal with impact factor over 7. In collaboration with a couple of foreign European fusion centres we managed to suppress the tritium retention using synergistic effects of plasma particles produced from reactive gases.

Surface Engineering

In the chapter "Surface Engineering" (44 pages) all conventional and advanced surface engineering techniques, which are used in industrial production, are descriebed. In such a way we can modify the physical and chemical properties of solid surfaces. Solid surface determines a lot of physical and chemical properties. In most cases it is not necessary to change the properties of bulk material but only the properties of surface layer. For this purpose different surface engineering techniques are available.

Analysis of diffusion process in Al/Cr and Cr/Fe multilayer using the MRI model

The precise thin film analysis was applied to study the diffusion processes in the Al/Cr, Al/Fe and Cr/Fe intermetallic films of complex metallic alloys deposited by PVD process. Detailed analysis of the depth profiles was conducted using MRI model taking into account interface broadening of the measured profile due to three reasons: ion-induced atom mixing, roughness, and information depth of analysed electrons. Thus we reconstructed the true depth profile of the as-deposited samples and profiles of the annealed samples that allowed us to extract the diffusion coefficients.

Ion irradiation stability of multilayered AlN/TiN nanocomposites

Applying the XPS method we investigated the structural changes in multilayered (AlN/TiN)x5 nanocomposites upon Ar ion irradiation in collaboration with the Institute for Nuclear Sciences from VinĨa, Serbia. It was found that this immiscible system exhibits a high ion radiation stability, the AlN and TiN layers remaining well separated, with sharp interfaces. Ion irradiation induced small local density changes and only a slight increase in individual grains. Due to these small structural changes, ion irradiation enhanced the mechanical strength of the multilayered nanocomposites.

Non-square-well potential profile and suppression of blinking in compositionally graded Cd[sub](1-x)Zn[sub]xSe/Cd[sub]xZn[sub](1-x)Se nanocrystals

Theoretical kvantum - mechanical simulation of phenomena in complex crystalls revealed important results that may represent directions to experimentalists to suppress the blinking effects. This paper was published in a new journal in the nanoscience filed that will very probably become a leading interdisciplinary journal.
