New precision limit on the strange vector form factors of the proton

By measuring the process of electron scattering on protons in which there is a small parity-violating contribution we have determined a new precision limit on the strange vector form factors of the proton

Polarization components in [pi][sup]0 photoproduction at photon energies up to 5.6 GeV

The results show a nonzero induced polarization above the resonance region. The polarization transfer components vary rapidly with the photon energy and pi0 scattering angle in the CMS. This indicates that hadron helicity conservation does not hold and that the perturbative QCD limit is still not reached in the energy regime of this experiment.

Beam-target double-spin asymmetry A[sub](LT) in a charged production from deep inelastic scattering on a transversely polarized [sup]3He target at 1.4 ( Q[sup]2 ( 2.7 GeV[sup]2

We report on the first measurement of the bBeam-target double-spin asymmetry on a transversely polarized target in the valence quark region (Bjorken x between 0.16 and 0.35). The results indicate a positive azimuthal asymmetry for pi- and one that is consistent with zero for pi+.

High count rate [gamma]-ray spectroscopy with LaBr[sub]3

We have investigated the applicability of LaBr detectors for high-countrate gamma spectroscopy by placing them in a setup with radioactive sources in order to study the dependence of the energy resolution and photo peak efficiency on the count rate.

Final analysis of proton form factor ratio data at Q[sup]2=4.0, 4.8, and 5.6 GeV[sup]2

The key result of the final analysis is a systematic increase in the results for R, improving the consistency of the polarization transfer data in the high Q2 region. This increase is the result of an improved selection of elastic events which largely removes the systematic effects.
