Mo[sub]6S[sub]3I[sub]6-Au composites : synthesis, conductance, and applications

Gold nanoparticles with different sizes and densities were coated on the MoSI by changing the concentration of the gold containing salt, HAuCl4. TEM, SEM, and EDX characterization showed deposition of gold nanoparticles on the MoSI nanowire surface.

Electron-phonon coupling in high-temperature cuprate superconductors determined from electron relaxation rates

We determined electronic relaxation times via pump-probe optical spectroscopy using sub-15 fs pulses for the normal state of two different cuprate superconductors.

3.
Strong correlations in highly electron-doped Zn(II)-DNA complexes.

We present spectroscopic measurements on the first example of a chemically electron-doped metal-DNA complex. We show that a doping level as high as the stoichiometric limit of one electron per base pair can be achieved.

4.
Dynamics in mesoscopic superconducting rings : multiple phase-slips and vortex-antivortex pairs

We investigate the situation where a mesoscopic 1D ring or 2D cylinder is subject to a magnetic field by simulating the time dependant Ginzburg–Landau equations with periodic boundary conditions.

Bonding states in molecular-scale MoSI nanowire-gold nanoparticle networks.

MoSI molecular nanowires have been recently shown to form intriguing large-scale self-assembled networks using specific bonding with gold nanoparticles in solution. We demonstrate a strong chemical interaction between gold atoms and the nanowires.
