An array smell sensor based on the measurement of the junction resistance of nanowires with different metals

The present invention describes a multi-element array recognitive sensor (e-nose) based on the detection of analytes within nanowire/metals junctions. The contact impedance between a nanowire and a metal electrode changes when different molecules are adsorbed in the region of the line contact between the metal electrodes and the nanowire.
