The subject of this invention is a sol-gel procedure for the preparation of anticorrosion coatings for solar collectors. Core of this invention are processes for the preparation of ultra thin coatings (0.5-500 nm), which do not deteriorate optical properties of surfaces. So protected absobers can be more than 20 days in slat spray chamber. The innovation was awarded by golden prize at Regional competition and golden prize of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia for innovation in 2009. There was already submitted the world patent claim. Patent was sold abroad (Alanod, Germany).

COBISS.SI-ID: 4235290This invention relates to production of sol-gel based spectrally selective surfaces, that is, coatings on metallic substrates, for harvesting solar thermal energy. More specifically, the invention relates to methods for producing various coating compositions, in which the sol-gel binder is an organic-inorganic hybrid and is made by a sol-gel process; and methods for application of the coating composition on various substrates in order to obtain surfaces exhibiting high solar absorptance and low thermal emittance; that is, surfaces with high spectral selectivity.

COBISS.SI-ID: 5360922This invention relates to: i) a coloured multilayer coatings that exhibit low solar absorptance and high thermal emittance, which could be used for controlling the highest temperature of coated surfaces exposed to direct sunlight; ii) the process for coating application; and iii) cool surfaces prepared by application of these coatings. The coloured coating compositions are made by mixing highly reflective metallic or metallised flakes, IR transparent or IR reflecting colorants and various binders, their high thermal emittance is assured by application of a transparent top coating possessing high thermal emittance. Coatings can be applied by spray-coating applications or by coil-coating applications.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4929050Cooperation of National Institute of Chemistry and Helios led to the development of new spectrally selective coatings for solar absorbers. The result of successful cooperation was awarded by Puh Award for Inventions, Development Achievements and Transfer of Scientific Investigations in Industry, which belong among the highest state awards in the scientific field. New coatings enable mass production of absorption coatings for solar collectors with continuous deposition on aluminium or zincated sheet metal. Absorbers, prepared in this way, are much cheaper than vacuum deposited absorbers.
