Mercury contents in the vertical profiles through alluvial sediments as a reflection of mining in Idrija (Slovenia)

Mercury content in 254 samples gathered from 18 boreholes at 8 localities in stream sediments of the river Idrijca has shown that geochemical background for alluvial sediments amounts to 0.75 mg/kg of dry material. In the profiles, the beginning of mining activity in Idria has been recognised.

2.
Impact of dust filter installation in ironworks and construction on brownfield area on the toxic metal concentration in street and house dust (Celje, Slovenia)

The content of toxic metals in street sediment and household dust has shown a positive trend after installation of dust filters in the ironwork at Štore. Civil engineerig works at the Bukovžlak brownfield area increased the content of toxic metals in the street sediment and household dust.

Eruptive and sedimentary evolution of the Pliocene Grad Volcanic Fied, North-east Slovenia

Contemporaneous alkali basaltic volcanism and fluvial sedimentation resulted in the formation of various mixed lithofacies that served in reconstruction of evolutionary history of the Grad Volcanic Field, from the initial maar to the late-stage tuff-ring.
