Early sexual debut and sexual life style reflexivity

Sexual life styles of persons with early sexual debut differ in some respects from those with sexual debut at a more mature age. We showed the association of early sexually debut and reflexivity, which was measured both on interaction (communication with sexual partners, coping with sexual risks) and attitudinal level (restrictiveness/openness of sexual attitudes).

Exchange and power in sexual life

In high modern societies sexual behavior has been increasingly decupled from the structured social and cultural limitations. Nevertheless sexual behavior is still socially “stratified”. The reflexivity does not make sexual behavior “free-floating” as long as social resources which enable reflexivity (among them especially cultural and social capital) are unevenly distributed. The analysis showed that sexual debut is not underdetermined by social resources which enable reflexivity.
