Photocatalytic nanoparticles synthesized using hydrolysis of aqueous TiOSO4.

The influence of the nanoparticles size on the photocatalytic activity of anatase was presented. The nanoparticles were synthesized using the hydrolysis of aqueous TiOSO4 and subsequently coarsened by a hydrothermal treatment. In contrast to the literature data, it appeared that the smallest, as-synthesized nanoparticles with a size of approximately 6 nm showed the strongest photocatalytic activity.

Photocatalytic material that is based on TiO2 coatings on the agglomerates of superparamagnetic nanoparticles

After the patent application, our original concept for the preparation of the photocatalytic, superparamagnetic, nanocomposite particles for the decomposition of pollutants in water was presented for the first time. The focus was on the assembly of the magnetic carriers using the controlled agglomeration of superparamagnetic Fe2O3 nanoparticles in aqueous suspensions. The prepared agglomerates enable effective magnetic separation.
