1.
The Uninvited. Globalization, Nationalism and Migration.

The monograph deals in a complex manner with the relations among the macro-social processes of globalisation, nationalism and migrations in the contemporary world, which are frequently dealt with separately. Globalisation processes intertwine with the national state and nationalism, and both have effects on migration currents and migrants’ reception in the recieving countries. The chapter on migrations includes a case study focused on an analysis of the public (media and parliamentary) discourse on immigrants in Slovenia.

Migrant identity : between integration and assimilation in the light of contemporary paradoxes.

The omnipresent effects of migration in the contemporary society have increasingly called attention to the fact that the migration terminology itself has become politically dangerous and conceptually non-applicable. Despite the growth of means of covering long distances in a short time, however, the boundaries of controlled movement have been widening.
