The missing rib: religion and gender stereotypes

The paper attempts to trace the issue of the negative influence of gender stereotypes and prejudices, which are extremely frequent in both secular and religious spheres, constitutes a thread that winds through the identification of traditionally determined stereotyped male and female images, gender roles and division of labour, which is gaining new contents. Second, the analysis of the tensions inherent in contemporary gender religious policy are discussed.

Negative gender stereotypes and prejudices in the Slovene socio-religious sphere

Nowadays the question about gender stereotypes and prejudices along with gender equality is outstanding and up to date. Stereotyped notions a man and a woman fixed according to a tradition are changing and gainning new contents. For deeper investigation of gender stereotypes and prejudices that emphasize the discrimination of women in the Slovene society and the catholic Church the research with the help of questionar has been done. The article shows and analyzes the results of this particular research.

Women in interreligious dialogue : transformation of negative gender and religious stereotypes

The article from the perspective of East European Christian feminist theology (where we could place the Slovene scientific and religious cultural sphere regarding the position of Christian feminist theology and its presence) points out the need and importance of women’s inter – religious dialogue for Balkan context. Apart of proposed strategies and methodologies that are of crucial importance for the quality of inter-religious dialogue, the paper also implies the need for a call for women’s inter-religious dialogue in the sense of the healing of “Balkan war wounds”.

Gender Religious Policy in a Globalised world: perspectives from the field of christian feminist theology

The paper offers the insides and the results of the analysis on impact of negative gender stereotypes on extention of patriarchal androcentrizem and sexism (case study: Slovenia). The paper than moves on to consider main implicationes of negative elements in judaeo-christian cultural and religious context on the formation of collective historical memory. The most important part of the paper is presentation of slovenian model of christian feminist theology.
