At the 4th congress of the Slovenian Microbiological Society with international participation, a brief review of recent Slovenian studies on different HPV topics was presented, covering evaluation of different commercial tests for detection of high-risk HPV, role of HPV in the etiopathogenesis of different tumors, studies of hair follicles as an important endogenous reservoir of HPV, development of a real-time PCR assay for detection and genotyping of HPV-6 and HPV-11, genomic diversity of HPV-6, HPV-11, HPV-38 and HPV-53 and HPV testing in routine gynecological practice
