Synthesis of a Li- and Ta-modified (K,Na)NbO3 solid solution by mechanochemical activation

The article presents for the first time the synthesis of a (K,Na,Li)(Nb,Ta)O3 solid solution from a mechanochemially activated powder. The method allows to prepare a homogeneous solid solution with dielectric and piezoelecrtic properties comparable to the properties obtained by the conventional solid-state synthesis route, where a higher number of processing steps are required.
