1.
The PECAM-1 gene polymorphism - a genetic marker of myocardial infarction.

We have demonstrated the that the PECAM-1 gene is a potential genetic marker for myocardial infarction in diabetics.

2.
Polymorphisms of interleukin-8 and -18 genes and diabetic retinopathy.

We have found out that the tested polymorphisms of IL-8 (1633T/C-rs2227543, 251A/T-rs4073) and IL-18 (-607C/A-rs1946518, -137G/C-rs187238) are not associated with the development of diabetic retinopathy in type 2 diabetes.

3.
Polymorphisms in the promoter region of BFGF gene are not associated with MI in a Slovene population with type 2 diabetes.

We have found out that the tested polymorphisms of the bFGF are not associated with the development of myocardial infarction in type 2 diabetes.

4.
The role of vascular endothelial growth factor gene as the genetic marker of atherothrombotic disorders.

The author disscusses about the role of VEGF in MI development.
