Čurin Šerbec, V.: Antibodies capable to selectively detect prion PrPSc isoforms.

The patent describes a simple way of production of anti-PrPSc monoclonal antibody (the majority of the project is based on this mAb) by using 13-amino acid long peptide from the primary structure of human PrP. BALB/c mice, expressing the whole PrP were used for the immunisation. After well-defined method of selection, a hybridoma cell line, producing IgG mAb was isolated.

The development of a new generation of monoclonal antibodies for blood grouping

The research group Biomedicine (lead by prof. dr. V. Čurin Šerbec) is also engaged in the applicative project for the industrial partner (USA-France-Switzerland). Development of monoclonal antibodies for the new generation of blood grouping reagents is on the way. The experience od good practice from industrial projects is implemented in the research work of the group.
