Ageing of dental zirconia (Y-TZP) ceramics under simulated clinical conditions.

Processing variables, particularly the pressing pressure, significantly influence the precission and reliability of sintered zirconia dental restorations.

3.
Mechanical properties of porous Y-TZP ceramics for dental applications.

By systematic control of the processing parameters partially porous, biscuit-sintered Y-TZP ceramics were fabricated. The resultant Young's modulus was closer to that of natural dentine, whereas the mechanical properties and the hydrothermal stability were acceptable for dental applications.

Biscuit-sintered Y-TZP blanks for the production of fixed partial dentures using soft milling

Criteria for the materils' selection were presented and the processing variables were were dtermined that allow for manufacturing of biscuit-sintered Y-TZP blanks for the production of fixed partial dentures using soft milling.

5.
In-vivo ageing of zirconia ceramics : results after 12 months

Ageing of conventionally sitered dental Y-TZP in oral cavity is considerably faster than in-vivo ageing of hot-isostatically pressed orthopaedic zirconia.
