CNC end milling optimization using evolutionary computation

New evolutionary computation technique (PSO) is proposed and implemented to efficiently optimize machining parameters simultaneously for milling. Neural predictive model is used to predict the cutting forces which in are then used by the PSO algorithm to optimize the cutting conditions subject to a comprehensive set of constraints.

Intelligent computer-aided control in flexible manufacturing system

Paper describes the process of modernization of conventional machining systems in Slovenian tool shops by implementation of adaptive control systems. Described control system controlling the cutting force and maintaining constant roughness by digital adaptation of cutting parameters.
