The cathedral chapter of Št. Andraž (Maribor) has been an important institution within the Diocese of Maribor, its role has increased after the transfer of the Bishopric to Maribor. Members of the Chapter played significant role in the functioning of the school of Theology. Among the canons was the so called sholasticus who was in charge of the school being at the same time teacher in it. The paper has been published in the monograph dedicated to the jubilee of the transfer of the Diocese to Maribor in the year 1859. In the same occasion, an international scientific meeting was organized.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9237507The paper, first of this kind, is dedicated to the contribution of the Slovenian theologians in the frame of the renewal in the Catholic Church brought about by the Second Vatican Council and by the laity. The paper has been published by the well known editorial house Tyrolia in Austria which has an aditional meaning for the promotion of the Slovenian science in the middle-european context. The immediate cause for the scientific meeting and the publication of the volume was the jubilee of Prof. M. Liebmann, for many years dean of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Graz.
